There is a major exhibition shown on Raoul Dufy at the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid from February to the middle of May in 2015.
Raoul Dufy was a French Fauvist painter who was born in 1877 and he died in 1953. He is best known for his unique colourful and decorative style he developed which became a really popular design of ceramics and textiles. This is the first major exhibition only dedicated to the French painter in Madrid since 1989 and the exhibition presents over 93 art works of the painter. The exhibition shows a wide range of various art works of Dufy including watercolours, drawings, oil paintings as well as ceramics and textiles which were designed by the French artist himself during his career. The exhibition follows the development of Dufy’s paintings and it is divided into four sections, his early work, the period of Cubism, the period of the textile and ceramics design and finally his mature period. The exhibition on Raoul Dufy takes place at the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid from 17th February to 17th May in 2015.
